The Burritt Room + Tavern, tucked into Mystic Hotel by Charlie Palmer, is heavily influenced by film noir. Named for Burritt Alley, where detective Sam Spade’s partner Miles Archer was gunned down in 1941 classic hardboiled crime film The Maltese Falcon, the distinctive atmosphere appears in the handcrafted cocktails as well as tavern’s walled-in and curtained booths that create dark corners for private conversation.
Executive Chef Lucas Knox, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in Portland, Oregon, brings the modern techniques he refined at Aureole Las Vegas, coupled with a renewed approach to the modern American tavern menu. Enhancing flavor profiles by using the freshest products Northern California has to offer, the chef offers standouts like Bay Area King Salmon with trumpet mushrooms, grilled asparagus, beer battered garlic and asparagus béarnaise, and Smoked Sea Scallop with confit melon, avocado mousse, watermelon radish and pink peppercorn. Burritt Room + Tavern combines a strong sense of place with contemporary luxury and refined style.
